Israeli Shoppers Spend Hundreds to Thousands of Shekels at Big Fashion Glilot Mall
As August begins, many Israelis are already reaching peak spending levels at Big Fashion Glilot, a large shopping and entertainment complex north of Tel Aviv. Visitors come not only for shopping but also for social events, dining, and family outings, often spending hundreds or even thousands of shekels in a single visit. For example, Hofit, who arrived with her four children, spent 430 shekels by mid-afternoon on food and shopping, while two young women from Rosh HaAyin had already spent 900 shekels within 90 minutes on clothes, shoes, and school supplies, expecting to reach 1,400 shekels by day's end.
A couple from Kiryat Ata celebrating a birthday reported spending about 1,000 shekels in just one hour, planning to continue with meals and shopping promotions that could push their total to around 2,500 shekels. Similarly, a group of young women from Ness Ziona spent between 600 and 900 shekels each during a two-hour visit, attracted by the mall’s extensive selection of over 160 stores, including flagship Zara and brands like OYSHO, Factory 54, Lululemon, and Alo Yoga.
Big Fashion Glilot is designed as an open-air shopping and leisure destination with two commercial streets, plazas, seating areas, and a broad food court featuring popular eateries such as Shake Shack, Aharonis Chicken, and Grand Cafe Turquoise. Its marketing strategy aims to create a European-style, Instagrammable experience that encourages visitors to stay longer and spend more. To compete with nearby malls like Seven Stars in Herzliya and Ramat Aviv, Big Fashion Glilot has installed large signs emphasizing its proximity, just four minutes away, signaling an aggressive push to capture consumer spending.
