Israeli Defense Firm Massive Partners with Indian Aerospace Company to Enter Asian Market
Israeli defense technology company Massive has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with an Indian aerospace firm as part of its expansion into the Asian market. Under the deal, Massive will deploy its equipment and technology at the Indian company's facilities, which will handle manufacturing, marketing, and sales. Massive will retain ownership of its intellectual property and receive payments for technology use and royalties from product sales. The Indian partner, Lohia, will gain exclusive rights to use Massive's RapidWings platform in India for 24 months, contingent on meeting purchase targets outlined in the final agreement. The companies also plan to explore producing components for unmanned aerial vehicles for other clients.
This partnership aligns with India's "Make in India" policy, which encourages local production and knowledge retention in the defense sector, making Indian partnerships essential for foreign companies seeking access to the large Indian defense market. While major global defense manufacturers from the US, France, Russia, and others have established joint ventures in India, Massive's agreement represents a significant milestone for the smaller Israeli firm aiming to penetrate this competitive market. The success of the initiative depends on finalizing the contract, purchase commitments, and securing actual projects.
