Israeli Sports Tech Firm Marki Raises $6.5 Million to Expand AI Decision Engine

The story · English

Marki, an Israeli technology company specializing in AI-driven decision-making tools for professional sports organizations, announced a $6.5 million funding round on July 30, 2026. The investment was led by Axel Springer SE, Welltech Ventures, APEX Capital, AnD Ventures, 97212 Ventures, and JCP. The funds will accelerate research and development and support strategic hiring in AI, engineering, and data science. Marki also plans to open offices in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Currently, Marki collaborates with over 20 clubs and associations worldwide, including teams from the English Premier League, Italy's Serie A, Major League Soccer in the US, and Israeli clubs. While initially focused on soccer, the company is developing a basketball platform in partnership with NBA and EuroLeague teams, aiming to expand across multiple sports.

Stephen Berlovitz, a partner at Welltech Ventures, praised Marki for applying AI in complex, data-rich professional sports environments to transform scattered information into tailored insights. He emphasized the company's potential to become the foundational intelligence layer for player evaluation, roster building, and game preparation.

Marki CEO and co-founder Dean Bracha highlighted the dramatic changes in sports over the past decade, noting that clubs now have access to more player and performance data than ever before. However, most organizations utilize only 4 to 15 percent of their available data due to limited scouting and analytics resources. Marki integrates organically into sports management workflows, helping teams unlock the full value of their data to make faster, better decisions.
