Kama-Tech Launches New Accelerator Cycle to Boost Ultra-Orthodox High-Tech Startups
Kama-Tech, an organization dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship within Israel's ultra-Orthodox community, has launched a new cycle of its startup accelerator program. This initiative aims to help ultra-Orthodox entrepreneurs break into key roles in the high-tech and innovation sectors. From over 200 applications, only ten startups were selected to participate, reflecting both strong interest and significant potential in ultra-Orthodox high-tech entrepreneurship.
During the intensive training period, participants will receive comprehensive support including professional lectures and close personal and business mentoring. The program is run in strategic partnership with Poalim-Tech, the innovation arm of Bank Hapoalim, Poalim in the Community, leading high-tech companies, and major global investment funds. These partners provide the startups with unique tools, valuable knowledge, and extensive networks essential for success.
Moshe Friedman, CEO of Kama-Tech, emphasized the critical need to strengthen economic stability and cultivate resilient, high-quality ultra-Orthodox high-tech companies. He noted the high caliber of this year’s applicants and the rigorous selection process. Friedman expressed gratitude to the program’s partners and supporters and highlighted ongoing content adjustments to maximize impact. Kama-Tech was founded by Friedman alongside several ultra-Orthodox entrepreneurs and has garnered support from prominent figures in Israel’s tech industry, including Prof. Amnon Shashua and Dr. Yossi Vardi.
Since its inception, Kama-Tech has developed professional training tracks and placement programs, serving over a thousand ultra-Orthodox women annually. Its dedicated track for ultra-Orthodox tech entrepreneurs has helped establish around 100 active companies employing over a thousand workers. This accelerator cycle represents a key step in Kama-Tech’s ongoing efforts to integrate ultra-Orthodox entrepreneurs into Israel’s high-tech industry while respecting the community’s spiritual and professional standards.
