Rabbi Yaakov Glauberman Explains How Faith Helps Overcome Impossible Challenges

מאת הרב יעקב גלויברמן

The story · English

In his weekly Torah portion commentary on Parashat Eikev, Rabbi Yaakov Glauberman reflects on the eternal promises of God despite the hardships faced by the Israelites in the desert. He highlights how God reminds Moses of past sins, such as the Golden Calf, yet remains steadfast in His commitment to the people. The key to overcoming overwhelming odds, Rabbi Glauberman explains, lies in remembering the great miracles of the Exodus and maintaining faith in God's guidance.

Rabbi Glauberman emphasizes that adherence to the Torah and its commandments is the path to receiving divine blessings, including health, fertility, and protection. He points out that Parashat Eikev opens with Moses questioning how the smaller Israelite nation can prevail against larger, stronger enemies, and God's answer is to "remember" His past miracles and promises. Despite the spiritual and physical challenges endured, God does not retract His promises and urges the people to keep the Torah close to their hearts to merit all blessings.

The rabbi concludes by underscoring the ultimate promise that God will remove all sickness from those who remain faithful, offering hope and reassurance to all who follow the commandments. This message serves as a spiritual guide for overcoming seemingly impossible challenges through faith and remembrance.
