The story · English

On Tu B'Av, a significant day in Jewish tradition known for opening the gates of matchmaking, Yossi Abdo shares a powerful and secret ritual from Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri, a revered Kabbalist, aimed at removing obstacles to marriage. This rare spiritual practice, detailed in the book 'Shmira LeChaim' by the Netivot Shalom HaRashash institutions, offers a step-by-step guide for singles seeking to find a spouse and marry soon.

The ritual begins with preparing 70 one-shekel coins and a bucket of water, over which a special prayer invoking the merit of the patriarchs and King David is recited to open one's fortune and remove hindrances. Next, the participant reads Psalms 113 to 118 over the water, repeating the verse "Please, Lord, save now" 70 times, giving a coin to charity each time. Afterward, a portion of the water is drunk, and the rest is warmed for pouring over the body while reciting another prayer asking for the removal of all obstacles and the swift finding of a spouse.

The final step involves a close relative pouring the water over the participant's body in a bath, symbolizing cleansing and blessing. The 70 coins given during the psalm reading are to be distributed to the poor or Torah scholars. This ritual is believed to be effective throughout the year, with hopes that through the sanctity of the day and Rabbi Kaduri's merit, many will soon celebrate joyous and lasting marriages.
