Rabbi Lebanon Links Europe Wildfires to France and Spain's Hostility Toward Israel

Rabbi Elyakim Lebanon, the chief rabbi of Samaria and head of the Alon Moreh Yeshiva, addressed the massive wildfires raging in France and Spain on Tuesday. He interpreted these disasters as a divine message to the two countries, reflecting their hostile attitudes toward Israel. Rabbi Lebanon began by noting the significant transformations Israel is undergoing across various sectors, including international standing, security, and the economy. He emphasized that global attitudes toward Israel are shifting, with some nations appreciating Israel's achievements while others, including certain European countries and terrorist organizations, harbor deep hatred against it.

Rabbi Lebanon cited a biblical prophecy about God fighting against the nations and connected it to the current wildfires in France and Spain. He described these countries as among the most antagonistic toward Israel and viewed the fires as a clear sign of divine intervention, quoting, "The house of Jacob will be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame." He concluded with a direct warning to France and Spain: if they continue their hostile policies, they will face escalating consequences, but if they seek forgiveness from Israel, they may overcome the calamities. He stressed, "There is justice and there is a judge."
