Former PM Bennett Says Israel Could Topple Iran Regime, Missed Opportunity Window

Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett stated at the Ynet and Yedioth Ahronoth National Security Conference, in collaboration with the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), that Israel has the capability to overthrow the Iranian regime. However, he emphasized the complexity of the issue, noting that the Iranian regime is destined to fall regardless of Israel’s actions, but the process could be prolonged. Bennett criticized the Netanyahu government for missing a critical window of opportunity to take necessary actions ahead of a potential strike on Iran. He highlighted the importance of maintaining internet continuity in Iran, explaining that during protests, the Iranian government shuts down internet access, which disrupts communication among protesters and with the outside world, effectively stifling dissent. Bennett suggested that ensuring uninterrupted internet could have supported protest movements and pressured the regime more effectively.
