The story · English

A music segment aired on Sweden's public broadcaster sparked significant controversy after a singer and rapper made politically charged statements during their performance. The singer, Anna-Carolina, declared she could travel anywhere except Tel Aviv, followed by a rapper calling to "free Palestine" during the song "Bimini Road." The broadcast, which took place during prime time, drew criticism on social media and from Swedish public figures.

Odelia Magnusson, an Israeli living in Sweden for two decades, condemned the broadcast as crossing a red line, emphasizing that the state-funded channel should remain apolitical and not promote such messages, especially with the host joking and the audience applauding. She highlighted the contrast with Sweden's Eurovision pre-selection show, where political statements are banned. Magnusson also noted a recent pro-Palestinian protest outside a Stockholm hospital where a doctor participated in uniform, which also caused public uproar.

Swedish public figure Daniel Schatz questioned whether the program was an appropriate platform for incitement against Israel. The broadcaster has not responded to public complaints, reportedly focusing on covering a recent attack at Berlin's Pride parade. The incident has intensified debates in Sweden about media impartiality and the boundaries of political expression in entertainment.
