Iranian Crown Prince Criticizes Trump, Calls for Freedom Amid Protests

Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi sharply criticized former U.S. President Donald Trump without naming him, condemning the recent violent crackdown on protests in Iran. Speaking on Sunday, Pahlavi stated that thousands of Iranians have died not to keep the Strait of Hormuz open or for a nuclear deal, but for freedom. He made these remarks during a meeting in Israel with Sylvan Adams, president of the World Jewish Congress. Adams expressed hope for the liberation of the Iranian people, emphasizing Jewish support for Pahlavi's vision of a free, pluralistic, representative, and democratic Iran. Pahlavi highlighted the ancient biblical ties between Iran and Israel, noting the longstanding support from Jews worldwide and Israelis for Iran's struggle for freedom. He expressed optimism that once the current regime and its threats disappear, Iran can be rebuilt with international assistance. Pahlavi also welcomed Adams to Tehran to explore suitable locations for future embassies of Israel and Iran. Adams announced his intention to visit Tehran to find a property for a future Israeli embassy in a free Iran. As a symbolic gesture, Adams presented Pahlavi with two mezuzahs made from Jerusalem stone, crafted by an Israeli scribe of Iranian descent. One mezuzah is intended for the future Israeli embassy in Tehran, and the other for the future Iranian embassy in Jerusalem.
