Anat Wielf Proposes Applying Israeli Law to Parts of West Bank to Resolve Palestinian Issue

Anat Wielf, chairwoman of the Ma'oz party, outlined her solution to the Palestinian issue in the West Bank during a Channel 14 broadcast. She called for the Israeli government to adopt a clear and decisive approach by applying Israeli law to certain areas of the West Bank through a Knesset vote, granting equal civil rights to residents in those areas.

Wielf suggested that areas where Israeli law is not applied should remain under active military occupation. She criticized the current situation as a "half measure," arguing that Israel exerts military control but lacks full governance, especially over education and religious institutions like schools and mosques. This incomplete control, she said, traps Israel in an endless cycle of partial authority and high costs, military, political, and economic, without genuine sovereignty.

Additionally, Wielf mentioned the presence of UNRWA in the territories as part of the complex governance issues. Her proposal emphasizes a dual approach: formal Israeli law in some parts and continued military administration in others, aiming to break the ongoing stalemate and clarify Israel's role in the West Bank.
