MK Sharren Haskel Claims New Hope Members Were Forced to Record Votes for PM in State Comptroller Election

MK Sharren Haskel submitted a sworn affidavit to Israel's Supreme Court alleging that members of the New Hope party were required to film their votes during the repeated ballot for the State Comptroller and present the recordings to Prime Minister Netanyahu. This claim emerged amid Haskel's petition to split from the National Right faction, following her resignation as Deputy Foreign Minister. According to Haskel's affidavit, the demand to document votes by video was imposed during the rerun of the vote, contradicting previous denials by Likud CEO David Sharon and several Likud MKs who had stated no such requirement existed. Haskel's affidavit insists the documentation demand was real and that the footage had to be shown to the Prime Minister. The report was first published by journalist Avishai Greenzeig on i24NEWS. Last week, Haskel sent a sharp letter of resignation to Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, accusing him of lying to her and the Israeli public, shortly after the Knesset passed a law granting immunity from arrest to deserters.
