Yair Golan Proposes Oslo-Style Policy Cooperation with Bennett and Lieberman

Yair Golan, chairman of the Democratic Party, stated at a conference in Kiryat Ono that it is possible to establish a policy "in the spirit of the Oslo Accords" even in partnership with Naftali Bennett, leader of Yamina, and Avigdor Lieberman, head of Yisrael Beiteinu. Golan outlined a separation policy from the Palestinians, emphasizing three principles he believes he, Lieberman, Bennett, and former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot could agree on immediately: removing all illegal outposts, restoring law and order in Judea and Samaria, and waging an uncompromising war on terrorism, whether Jewish or Palestinian. He suggested these principles could form the basis for a coalition and progress in the right direction.

Golan further proposed adding a fourth principle: pursuing a positive arrangement aligned with the Oslo Accords, which no Israeli government has officially canceled. He argued that this could lead to regional security arrangements that would greatly expand Israel's strategic options. This stance may be controversial among his potential coalition partners, as both Bennett and Lieberman have previously harshly criticized the Oslo Accords, calling them a disaster and dangerous.
