Yair Golan Calls for Broad Agreement to Evacuate West Bank Outposts Including with Bennett

Yair Golan, chairman of the Democratic Camp party, has outlined a clear political stance advocating for the evacuation of illegal outposts and farms in the West Bank. In an interview on Nadav Perry's podcast, Golan emphasized that broad consensus could be reached on this issue, naming potential partners such as Naftali Bennett, Gadi Eizenkot, and Yair Lapid. He stated that his political goal remains a two-state solution for two peoples.

Golan identified three immediate steps to advance: halting annexation moves, combating both Palestinian and Jewish terrorism, and evacuating all illegal outposts and farms. He described these principles as a foundation that could be agreed upon "tomorrow morning." His comments suggest a willingness to cooperate across political lines, including with figures from the right and center.

The remarks sparked criticism from the right-wing camp, with Religious Zionism leader and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich condemning the proposal. Smotrich accused Golan and his named allies of coordinating a plan to dismantle settlements, warning that if Gadi Eizenkot were to become prime minister, it would mark the end of the settlement movement and the rise of a "terror state." The debate highlights ongoing tensions over settlement policy and the future of the West Bank amid Israel's complex political landscape.
