Yair Golan Sparks Controversy Claiming Rapid Evacuation of West Bank Outposts Possible

Yair Golan, chairman of the Democratic Camp, stated in an interview with Nadav Perry that West Bank farms and outposts could be evacuated as soon as the next morning. He claimed there is potential to reach agreements on this issue with other political figures, mentioning coordination with Benny Gantz, Naftali Bennett, and Avigdor Lieberman. Golan said, "We can evacuate the farms and outposts tomorrow morning. I can finalize this with Eisenkot, Bennett, and Lieberman."

His remarks triggered a sharp response from Avigdor Lieberman, leader of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, who dismissed Golan's statements. Lieberman said, "I have already said that Yair Golan lacks coordination between his head and mouth. All these stories about evacuating outposts and settlements, I simply suggest he sign up for a storytelling festival. In the next government, we will focus on consensus issues, not disputes."

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich also criticized Golan's comments, warning that if Gantz (referred to as Eisenkot) becomes prime minister, the settlement movement would be dismantled and Israel would face a "terror state." Smotrich said, "Listen to Yair Golan. He is telling the truth. He is coordinated with Eisenkot, Bennett, and Avigdor on dismantling the farms and evacuating the settlements we established. If Eisenkot becomes prime minister, the settlement revolution will be erased and a terror state will be just around the corner."
