Yair Golan Unveils Plan to Dismantle Outposts and Combat Jewish Terrorism

Yair Golan, chairman of the Democratic Party, released a video outlining his comprehensive plan for Israel, addressing accusations that he and his party hold extreme views. Golan detailed his positions on key issues including military conscription, education, public transportation, policing, the judiciary, and security. He emphasized his support for equal military service and cutting funding to draft evaders, proposing to redirect those funds to improve education, particularly early childhood and democratic education. Golan also advocated for operating public transportation on Shabbat, promoting personal freedom with the phrase "live and let live."

Regarding law enforcement, Golan proposed reforms to restore the police's professional role serving the public and the law rather than political interests, citing that only 11% of Israelis rate the police's performance as "very good." On the judiciary, he called for an independent legal system with a Basic Law ensuring equality for all citizens and pledged to repeal what he termed "all coup d'état laws."

Golan's security agenda includes investing in northern and border communities, providing financial support to citizens who serve and pay taxes, dismantling illegal outposts, and waging a "radical war on terror," explicitly including Jewish terrorism. He stressed the need for security for Israeli citizens without endless cycles of conflict, advocating for regional agreements instead of repeated military rounds.

Concluding his message, Golan framed the upcoming elections as a choice not merely to replace Prime Minister Netanyahu but to change Israel's direction from extremism back to Zionism and the values of the Declaration of Independence.
