Israel Ports Company and Greek Embassy Strengthen Maritime Cooperation Amid Regional Tensions

Amid rising security tensions and threats to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, the Israel Ports Company and the Greek Embassy have agreed to enhance maritime cooperation to advance the international IMEC project. During a meeting between senior officials from the Israel Ports Company and the Greek Ambassador to Israel, discussions focused on establishing a strategic corridor linking India, Gulf countries, and Israel to Europe through Greek ports. To prepare for the project and ensure Israel's inclusion over Turkey or Syria, the Israel Ports Company has begun evaluating locations for inland ports that will facilitate efficient and rapid cargo transport.
