Masked Intruders Attempt Break-In at Spain Star Ansu Fati's Barcelona Home

In the early hours of Wednesday, two masked individuals attempted to break into the home of Spain national team and Barcelona player Ansu Fati in Esplugues de Llobregat, near Barcelona. The player's private security team spotted the suspects via surveillance cameras and thwarted the break-in before they could enter the property. Reports indicate the suspects tried to climb the home's wall but fled upon noticing the security personnel. The Catalan police were called to the scene and have launched an investigation into the aggravated attempted break-in. Authorities are currently reviewing security footage to identify the suspects.

The incident occurred just hours after Spain's 2-0 victory over France, which secured Fati's first World Cup final appearance, meaning he was not at home during the attempt. Fati's villa is well-known in Spain, having previously belonged to Gerard Piqué and Shakira. Shortly before departing for the World Cup, Fati shared a video on social media showcasing his home and valuable possessions.

This break-in attempt is part of a series of burglaries targeting footballers' homes in the Barcelona area. Earlier in February, the homes of Barcelona players Pau Cubarsí and Joan García were reportedly broken into, with thieves exploiting the players' absences to steal watches, jewelry, and cash. Police have warned that criminals monitor players' schedules, travel, and social media posts to identify when their homes are unoccupied. In response, the club is reassessing security measures for players and their families.
