Israeli Pro Poker Player Ori Hasson Wins Second World Series Bracelet and $582,000 in Las Vegas
Israeli professional poker player Ori Hasson achieved a significant milestone by winning his second career bracelet at the ongoing World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas, earning a prize of $582,000. The bracelet is awarded to winners of WSOP tournaments, and winning more than one is a rare and prestigious accomplishment that places Hasson among an elite group of top players. Hasson triumphed in the No-Limit Hold'em Closer tournament, which marked the near end of the summer WSOP circuit, with a buy-in of $1,500 and a total of 3,724 entries.
In the final heads-up match, Hasson faced South Korean player Kevin Song. On the last hand, Hasson raised to 6 million chips, Song called, and after the flop (2♦, 8♣, 4♣), Hasson bet 5 million. Song raised to 15 million, prompting Hasson to go all-in. Song called but was behind with Q4 against Hasson's K8. Song failed to improve on the turn and river, securing Hasson's victory.
Other notable Israeli performances included Sahar Haran finishing 15th and winning $29,250 in the same tournament. In a separate event, Tzur Levy placed seventh in the $10,000 six-max tournament, winning $113,570, while Assi Moshe, who earlier this summer won his fifth career bracelet, finished 12th and earned $51,713.
Hasson has now earned nearly $2.3 million in live tournament winnings, ranking 11th all-time in Israel. His first bracelet came four years ago in an online tournament. Meanwhile, the nine finalists for the WSOP Main Event final table, scheduled for August 3, were determined. American 22-year-old Lucas Jomelun leads with 194 million chips, and the most famous player is Canadian Greg Mueller, a former professional hockey player and three-time WSOP bracelet winner. Each finalist is guaranteed at least $1 million, with the winner set to receive $10 million.
