Urgent Care Center 'Terem' Opens in Rehovot Expanding Emergency Services
The urgent care center 'Terem' in Rehovot has officially opened after a successful six-month pilot period during which it treated approximately 17,000 patients. The center, which cost millions of shekels to establish, provides advanced medical services including treatment for heart attacks, severe allergic reactions, fractures, and other urgent health issues, serving as an alternative to hospital emergency rooms. This has contributed to a significant reduction in hospital visits in the region.
With the opening, Terem's network now includes 27 centers nationwide, covering about 30% of Israel's urgent medical cases. The Rehovot center operates daily from 9:00 AM to midnight on weekdays, 9:00 AM to 11:30 PM on Fridays, and 9:00 AM to 11:30 PM on Saturdays. An additional travelers' clinic offering vaccinations and travel-related health services will open by the end of summer.
The center is equipped with advanced laboratory testing, including blood, liver, kidney, and cardiac function tests, as well as modern radiology and emergency rooms. Patients can access their medical records securely online to ensure continuity of care between Terem and community clinics. The center is managed by experienced paramedic Dina Yudborovsky and led medically by Dr. Jack Finkel, an emergency medicine specialist.
The inauguration event included prominent figures such as Cabinet Minister Avi Dichter, Rehovot Mayor Matan Dil, and leading rabbis. Mayor Dil emphasized the center's importance in enhancing local healthcare by providing fast, professional, and accessible urgent care close to home. Terem continues to recruit top medical staff to maintain high-quality service and reduce patient wait times.
Terem is Israel's largest urgent care network, handling about one million cases annually across the country, from Nahariya in the north to Eilat in the south. The expansion in Rehovot marks a significant step in strengthening community-based emergency medical services.
