Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu Criticizes Supreme Court for Undermining IDF Combat Readiness

Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu has sharply criticized Israel's Supreme Court judges, accusing them of deliberately weakening the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to appear progressive. Speaking ahead of the upcoming elections, he warned that the judges have placed themselves above the state and are harming national security by forcing the IDF to integrate women into combat units despite clear operational drawbacks. Eliyahu claimed that lowering physical standards for female soldiers compromises their combat effectiveness and endangers their lives, as well as those of Israeli civilians. He recalled a broadcast where he described how the IDF adjusted training methods, such as placing benches before walls and marking ropes, to accommodate female soldiers, which he said reduces their readiness compared to male soldiers.

Eliyahu further accused the IDF leadership of prioritizing progressive agendas over security, citing an incident on Simchat Torah when the head of military intelligence allegedly focused on climate change rather than protecting the country. He labeled these policies as a "war crime" and a betrayal of those who fund and serve in the military. The rabbi called for voters to reject the Supreme Court's influence in the upcoming elections, framing the vote as a choice between life and death for Israel. He described the current system as a "perfect dictatorship" where judges act as lawmakers, executors, and enforcers, urging the public to remove them to save the IDF and the state.
