Matrix Expands Security Operations by Acquiring Laor Energy for 73 Million Shekels

Matrix has signed an agreement to acquire 80% of Laor Energy's shares for approximately 73 million shekels, including Matrix's share in Laor's equity. The deal also includes mutual call and put options based on Laor's performance over the next two years. This acquisition aligns with Matrix's ongoing expansion in the security sector, enhancing its capabilities in electromechanical systems critical to defense and defense industries.

Founded in 1993, Laor Energy specializes in the development, engineering, integration, and manufacturing of energy, electrical, and electromechanical systems. Its products include control and command carriages, energy supply and backup systems, power conversion systems, and integrated hardware, software, and engineering solutions. Laor employs around 65 people and operates an engineering center and manufacturing plant in the Tziporit industrial area, primarily serving Israel's defense and defense industries.

According to Matrix's report to the stock exchange, Laor Energy had total assets of about 91 million shekels as of December 31, 2025, and a net profit of approximately 12 million shekels in 2025. Matrix expects the acquisition to broaden its portfolio of solutions in defense projects by combining its software, cyber, communications, and integration expertise with Laor's engineering and manufacturing capabilities. Matrix's defense-related business already exceeds one billion shekels annually, and this move is anticipated to strengthen its position with the defense establishment, defense industries, and international clients.

Matrix CEO Moti Gutman described the acquisition as a strategic step to solidify Matrix's status as a leading technology group in the defense sector, enhancing its market position and enabling expansion in Israel and abroad.
