IDF Central Command Chief Approves Natural Gas Regulation Framework in West Bank

The commander of the IDF Central Command has signed a new order establishing a comprehensive regulatory framework for the natural gas sector in the West Bank. This strategic move aims to remove regulatory barriers, enhance civilian resilience, and lay the groundwork for advanced economic and industrial development benefiting all residents of the area. The order provides the necessary legal infrastructure for constructing gas facilities, laying pipelines, and developing a regional supply network.

The regulation fully governs the transmission and distribution of natural gas in the West Bank, setting strict licensing, supervision, and enforcement mechanisms while safeguarding public and security interests in the region. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz praised the order, highlighting it as part of broader government efforts following the approval of over 100 new settlements and the return of IDF bases to northern Samaria.

Katz described the order as initiating an energy and security revolution in the settlements, establishing a modern gas sector infrastructure that includes significant security components. He emphasized that the West Bank settlements are stronger than ever, and the government is strengthening the area through concrete actions in security, infrastructure, energy, and development to ensure a prosperous future.
