Liberman Excludes Netanyahu From Future Government, Golan Rejects Current Coalition Partners

Ahead of the upcoming Knesset elections, Avigdor Liberman, chairman of Yisrael Beiteinu, stated that while the Likud party can be a partner in the next government, Benjamin Netanyahu himself cannot due to his responsibility for the events of October 7. Liberman emphasized the need to form a Zionist and national government, criticizing the current government as sectoral, maintained by Netanyahu's desire to hold onto power.

Meanwhile, Yair Golan, chairman of the Democratic Camp and retired major general, declared that none of the current coalition members should be partners in the future government. He argued that opposition to Netanyahu alone is insufficient since Netanyahu still has 67 ministers and Knesset members supporting him. Golan condemned those who violate Supreme Court rulings, undermine the rule of law, or refuse to set clear limits on Netanyahu’s attempts to dismantle democracy, stating they must not be part of the government of restoration and change.

Golan called on opposition party leaders to clearly commit that any minister or Knesset member currently involved in disobeying court rulings is unfit to serve in the next government. These statements reflect the heightened political tensions as election day approaches, with party leaders publicly defining their red lines and coalition preferences.
