Deputy Legal Advisor Criticizes Government for Normalizing Systematic Legal Violations

Gil Limon, Deputy to the Israeli Government Legal Advisor Gali Baharav-Miara, sharply criticized the government's recent decision regarding non-compliance with Supreme Court rulings on the Second Authority for Television and Radio. Limon questioned how the government could adopt a resolution that contradicts the legal advice provided to it. He highlighted that during the government meeting, a proposal was presented effectively instructing the government to ignore a Supreme Court order concerning the council of the Second Authority. Limon warned that this approach sets a dangerous precedent, allowing the government to disregard any legal opinion or court ruling it dislikes, thereby normalizing systematic violations of the law.
