Danny Glover Reveals Alzheimer's Diagnosis, Shares His Journey and Message of Hope

Danny Glover, the 79-year-old star of the "Lethal Weapon" film series, has publicly disclosed his battle with Alzheimer's disease. In interviews with the Today show and People magazine, Glover revealed he was diagnosed several years ago after his family noticed memory changes. He described the diagnosis as a difficult process and admitted he has not fully accepted it but strives to continue living his life despite the illness.

Glover's daughter, Mandisa Glover, noted that early signs appeared around 2022, leading to the diagnosis. She emphasized the importance of her father sharing his story while he can still speak for himself. Since the diagnosis, Glover has experienced declines in movement, speech, and memory. Approaching his 80th birthday on July 22, Glover remains one of Hollywood's most prominent actors and social activists, known for roles in "Lethal Weapon," "The Color Purple," and "The Predator 2." In 2022, he received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for his public service.

Despite his condition, Glover highlighted the support from his family and care network that helps him stay active and maintain a sense of purpose. He conveyed a message of resilience to others facing Alzheimer's, stating, "Life goes on."
