Security Forces Respond to Emergency Code on Flight from Warsaw to Israel

A passenger plane flying from Warsaw to Ben Gurion Airport was forced to land in Burgas, Bulgaria, after an emergency security code was activated during the flight. The aircraft, LOT flight 155 operated by Bulgarian company Electra for Polish carrier LOT, lost communication briefly, prompting the activation of the emergency protocol. Upon landing in Burgas, local security personnel approached the plane with drawn firearms as part of the security procedure. Earlier, two Israeli Air Force fighter jets were scrambled to intercept the plane over the Mediterranean Sea due to the communication loss. Shortly after, the flight crew restored contact and clarified that the incident was caused by a technical malfunction rather than a security threat. The Israeli military confirmed the event ended without any security concerns and communication with the plane was fully reestablished.
