Britain, Australia and Canada launch fund for Israeli-Palestinian peace initiatives
Britain, Australia and Canada have announced the creation of a new peace fund aimed at supporting efforts to advance a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Each of the countries will contribute £1 million to the fund, which will total £3 million, about $4 million.
According to the British government, the fund will focus on existing and new grassroots projects, including those involving young people, civil society organizations and women. The announcement was made ahead of a meeting in Britain between British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper and her counterparts from Australia and Canada, Penny Wong and Anita Anand.
