France Seizes Russian Tanker Linked to Moscowโs Shadow Fleet

French President Emmanuel Macron said the French navy seized a Russian oil tanker that was part of Moscowโs so-called shadow fleet, used by the Kremlin to move oil and gas products despite Western sanctions. He said the vessel was intercepted on Tuesday while sailing near the coast of Sicily.
Macron added that the operation came just days after a similar move by Britain. In a post on Instagram, he said the action showed โthe determination of Europe.โ
