Beit Shemesh Mayor Presents Dozens of New Allocations for Ramat Beit Shemesh D' Communities

Beit Shemesh Mayor Shmuel Greenberg and members of the Degel HaTorah city faction met with gabbaim and community leaders in Ramat Beit Shemesh D' to present dozens of upcoming allocations for institutions in the neighborhood. The meeting included dozens of community representatives from D' 4 and D' 3, who thanked the city for the synagogue allocations that have already been approved.

The gathering, held as a wrap-up on recent achievements by Degel HaTorah in the municipality, also served to hear about unresolved issues that still need city action. Alongside Greenberg, the meeting included city council members Kalman Heyman, who oversees Haredi affairs, and Avi Arentroy, who oversees Shalhevet matters.

Greenberg said the neighborhood is in the middle of rapid population growth, which has sharply increased demand for schools, synagogues, and community services. He said more than 100 new allocations for local communities have recently been arranged, and that new buildings for educational institutions serving the growing neighborhood have already been inaugurated.

The community leaders also raised ongoing needs in education, synagogues, infrastructure, and transportation, and follow-up steps were set in motion. Greenberg said, “The communities in Ramat D' are growing quickly, and it is our responsibility to make sure the community infrastructure, synagogues and educational institutions are keeping pace.” Heyman said direct meetings help set priorities and produce accurate solutions, while Arentroy said hearing leaders directly shows where action is needed. The gabbaim thanked the officials for close cooperation and said the direct dialogue improves municipal services for the expanding Degel HaTorah communities.
