The story · English

About 87% of Kisufim residents have already returned to the kibbutz after it was emptied following the October 7 massacre, and the community expects that figure to reach 95% by the end of the month. A resident said, "Since October 7 the kibbutz was not full, and now 87% of the residents are already here."

Kisufim currently has 109 families living there, and nearly 80 families came back during the past month. Some are living in caravans moved from the temporary settlement in Omer, where the residents had been relocated, while other families are back in homes inside the kibbutz.

According to the kibbutz, 28 homes were completely destroyed in the attack. One resident said most of the physical reconstruction of the repaired houses was completed in the past month, which helped bring families back. He also said the government's deadline for returning to the kibbutz accelerated many residents' decisions to come back.

Meanwhile, a kindergarten in the kibbutz was inaugurated yesterday after its construction had been halted because of the war. The report also noted the destroyed homes in Kisufim as of September 30, 2024.
