Iran Presents Terms to US for Conflict Resolution Amid UN Speeches

Iran has conveyed its conditions to the United States for ending conflicts, utilizing Qatar as an intermediary in New York. These demands include a cessation of hostilities on all fronts, an end to U.S. military operations, the lifting of naval blockades and economic sanctions, and the unfreezing of Iranian assets. Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian arrived in New York for his address to the UN General Assembly.

Syria is set to open the second day of speeches at the UN General Assembly in New York, with Iran, Ukraine, Poland, Venezuela, Spain, and the Democratic Republic of Congo also scheduled to speak. U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff reported "long indirect discussions" with the Iranian delegation, mediated by third parties, expressing hope for constructive outcomes.

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa urged Israel not to let the October 7th attacks dictate its policy toward Syria, stating that respecting others' security is essential for Israel's own safety. He argued that Israel's current strategy is increasing regional tensions and creating new threats.

Al-Sharaa also recounted a past jest with Donald Trump, where he suggested giving New Jersey to Israel instead of recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, emphasizing that the Golan belongs to its people. Meanwhile, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems is scheduled to conduct a controlled test in the Krayot region, with potential audible detonations.

Witkoff described the indirect U.S.-Iran talks as "constructive and promising," with mediation continuing. Former President Donald Trump had previously mentioned U.S. officials meeting with the Iranian delegation in New York.
