Iran links Hormuz Strait reopening to Lebanon’s territorial integrity and asset release

An Iranian source quoted by the Tasnim news agency said the Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened unless Lebanon’s territorial integrity is guaranteed. The source, described as coming from the negotiating delegation, said lifting the American naval blockade alone would not be enough.

According to the report, Tehran is setting multiple conditions for reopening the strategic waterway. Those include the release of some frozen Iranian assets, an end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, a complete lifting of the blockade on Iran, and approval for exporting oil and petrochemical products.

The source stressed that only after all of those demands are met would the Strait of Hormuz be reopened.
