גורמים בכירים בממשל האמריקאי הודיעו כי נשיא ארה"ב, דונלד טראמפ, לא ייפגש עם ראש ממשלת ישראל, בנימין נתניהו, במהלך עצרת האו"ם בניו יורק בשבוע הבא. הסיבה הרשמית שניתנה לכך היא "מגבלות בלוח הזמנים" של הנשיא. גורם נוסף בממשל האמריקאי ציין כי נוכחותו של נתניהו בניו יורק תהיה מוגבלת בשל הבחירות הקרבות בישראל. על פי הדיווח, נתניהו צפוי לשאת את דבריו בעצרת לאחר שטראמפ ישוב לוושינגטון.
