דובר צה"ל, אפי דפרין, פנה ברשת X ליוצרי הסרט "נז"א" בדרישה לאפשר לנציגי הצבא לצפות בסרט המלא. דבריו נאמרו על רקע פרסום פרומו לסרט, אשר לטענת דובר צה"ל מציג "שורה של טענות קשות ושקריות ביחס לצה"ל ולמשרתיו".

דפרין הדגיש כי הטענות המוצגות בפרומו אינן נכונות, וחלקן אף מוצגות באופן "מעוות, מסולף ומנותק מהמציאות בשטח". הוא הוסיף כי הוא מזמין את יוצרי הסרט לאפשר לנציגי צה"ל לצפות בסרט המלא, על מנת שיוכלו להתייחס באופן ענייני לכל אחת מהטענות המועלות בו.
