משרד ראש ממשלת ישראל הודיע היום (שני) כי ראש הממשלה בנימין נתניהו יצא בשבוע הבא לניו יורק, ארצות הברית. הביקור נועד להשתתפות בישיבה השנתית של העצרת הכללית של האו"ם ונאום ישראל בפני מנהיגי העולם.

במסגרת הנאום, נתניהו צפוי לסקור את ההתפתחויות המדיניות והביטחוניות האחרונות באזור. הנסיעה מתרחשת בתקופה של רגישות מדינית וביטחונית גבוהה, וגורמים דיפלומטיים מצפים לפגישותיו של נתניהו בשולי הוועידה.
