Vance Says Cheaper Gas Was the Main Reason to End the Iran War

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, who is leading the agreement front with Iran, said the main reason for stopping the war was to lower fuel costs for Americans. His remarks came as he pointed to what he described as Iran’s severe weakness and a strategic opening for the United States to force a decision against the ayatollah regime.

According to Vance, the decisive factor was not the military or diplomatic balance, but the effect on everyday consumers. He said ending the war would help reduce gasoline prices at the pump and cut the energy bills Americans pay to electricity and gas companies.

Vance stated plainly, “What is most important about ending the war is that Americans enjoy lower fuel and energy prices.” He presented that as the central reason behind the decision to stop the fighting and reach the agreement with Iran.
