Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster Reportedly Under Strain as Work Keeps Them Apart

Hugh Jackman, 57, and Sutton Foster, 51, are reportedly going through a rough patch because they cannot find enough time together. A source quoted by Woman's Day said both actors are very busy, but Foster makes time for Jackman more often than he does for her, leaving her frustrated.

According to the source, Foster is beginning to understand why Jackman's marriage to his former wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, broke down. Jackman is described as a workaholic who keeps inviting Foster to join him at events, but she cannot attend many of them because of her own career and because she is raising her 9-year-old daughter, Emily, with ex-husband and screenwriter Ted Griffin. The insider said the couple can feel like “two parallel lines” missing each other, and added that Jackman’s expensive divorce means he has to keep working, despite the toll on the relationship.

The source said the pair initially planned to focus on their careers for two years, then take about six months off and get married, but now there seems to be no end in sight. Foster is said to feel like a single mother at times and friends worry she cannot manage without more help. The source also warned that if Jackman loses Foster over this, he will be “a billionaire unhappy.”

For now, Foster is still accompanying him to major public appearances. The two attended the Met Gala last month and last week appeared together at the premiere of Jackman’s new film, “Death of Robin Hood.” That visibility has also revived online criticism, with some users reminding others that their relationship began as an alleged affair. Jackman and Furness divorced in 2023 after 27 years of marriage and two adopted children, Oscar, 26, and Ava, 21. A year later, Foster split from her husband, and Furness later spoke indirectly about betrayal, saying her heart went out to anyone who had experienced “the traumatic journey of infidelity.”
