Burger Chain Chantro Opens First Kosher Location in Hadera
The burger chain Chantro has launched its first kosher establishment in Hadera, Israel, operating under the name Chantro Express. This marks the fifth location for the chain, which was founded approximately five years ago by chef Hamada Atmana. The new restaurant has received a kosher certification from the Hadera rabbinate.
To meet kosher requirements, Chantro adapted some of its recipes, substituting dairy cheeses with plant-based alternatives and modifying certain sauces. The chain emphasizes that its patties are made from 100% entrecôte and that sauces are prepared in-house. Atmana plans to introduce a kosher production line for its brioche buns and develop new kosher-friendly crispy toppings.
The Chantro Express menu features classic burgers ranging from 150 to 300 grams, priced between 49 and 74 shekels. Combo meals including a burger, fries, and a drink cost between 67 and 77 shekels. The menu also includes signature items like the Chantro Burger (84 shekels), Mushroom Burger (79 shekels), Mexico Burger (76 shekels), Smash Burger (71 shekels), and Angus Burger (81 shekels). Chicken options include the Crispy Burger (54 shekels), chicken nuggets (49 shekels), and crispy chicken wings (49 shekels).
The Hadera location offers a faster service model, allowing customers to order and pay via electronic terminals or at the cashier. The restaurant is located at 1 Herbert Samuel Street, Quattro Complex, Hadera, and operates with extended hours throughout the week, including late-night service on Thursdays and Saturdays.
