Hundreds Attend High Elul Gathering in Jerusalem

Hundreds of scholars and yeshiva students gathered for a central High Elul (a month of repentance and prayer in the Jewish calendar) event held at the "Chasdei Yosef" hall in Jerusalem. The gathering was led by Rabbi Chaim Shalom Deutsch, head of the 'Anshei Ma'amad' yeshiva. He spoke about the significance of the month of Elul within Chassidic thought and offered a proper perspective on the period.

During his address, Rabbi Deutsch shared memories of the influential Rabbi Shlomo Chaim Kesselman and Rabbi Yechezkel Levenstein, a spiritual supervisor at the Ponevezh Yeshiva. He described their fervor during the High Holy Days prayers, particularly passages concerning the Creator's greatness.

Rabbi Menachem Erlinger of Bnei Brak, a notable guest, joined the event and continued to engage with the attendees until the early morning hours. His discourse focused on the practical application of spiritual concepts, explaining how Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, founder of Chabad Hasidism, brought the teachings of Rabbi Israel Baal Shem Tov, the founder of Hasidism, to a more accessible level.
