Shared Electric Scooters and Bikes Launch in Beersheba

Lime, a shared micro-mobility company, is expanding its operations in Israel by launching the first shared electric scooter and bicycle system in Beersheba. This initiative, a collaboration with the Beersheba Municipality and its development company "Yaadim," aims to connect key demand centers within the city and reduce reliance on private vehicles and unregulated electric tools.

The pilot program will initially deploy 100 bicycles and 100 scooters. Ahead of the academic year's start in October, the fleet is expected to grow to approximately 500 vehicles. These will be concentrated in major transportation hubs, including the train station, central bus station, Gav-Yam High-Tech Park, Soroka Medical Center, Ben-Gurion University, Turner Stadium, and the Neot Hovav industrial zone.

The core objective of this move is to link the developing innovation district with the Old City and adjacent residential neighborhoods (B and D), which have a high concentration of students and young people. The pricing structure will be 6 shekels to unlock a vehicle, plus 1.1 shekels per minute of riding.
