Ackerstein Family Replaces CEO Amit Lang Amid Declining Results
Less than a year after his appointment, Amit Lang is stepping down as CEO of Ackerstein Group. Lang, who previously served as CEO of Mekorot, took over the role in January 2026, succeeding Ehud Danuch who moved to lead Inrom. The controlling Ackerstein family has decided to resume direct management of the group, appointing Tzvika Ackerstein as the new CEO in Lang's place.
This leadership change follows a deterioration in the company's financial performance during the first two quarters of 2026. Ackerstein's net profit for the first half of the year fell by approximately 51%, from 33.8 million shekels to 16.5 million shekels. Revenues also declined by about 12%, totaling 400 million shekels compared to 454 million shekels in the same period last year.
In addition to the CEO replacement, the company plans to appoint a new chairman to replace Giora and a new CEO for Ackerstein Industries. Tzvika Ackerstein expressed gratitude to Amit Lang for his efforts and emphasized the family's commitment to strengthening the company's operational and production management, which are central to its business. He stated confidence that the management team's experience and current measures will ensure Ackerstein Group's continued market leadership.
