Consumer Price Index Falls 0.3%, and Home Prices Also Decline
Israel’s Consumer Price Index for May fell by 0.3%, leaving annual inflation unchanged at 1.9%. The year-over-year figure stayed flat because the May 2025 index also dropped by 0.3%.
At the same time, apartment prices continued to decline. A comparison of transactions completed in March to April 2026 with those from February to March 2026 showed a 0.3% drop in home prices.
Looking at the broader annual comparison, prices in March to April 2026 were 1.3% lower than in March to April 2025. The data indicate that both consumer prices and residential real estate prices softened in the latest reporting period.
