IDF Destroys Hamas Ambush Site Near Civilian Facilities in Northern Gaza

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) targeted and destroyed a Hamas ambush and weapons storage site in Jabalia, northern Gaza Strip, on Tuesday. The structure was located approximately 50 meters from the Israeli security barrier (the "yellow line"), 70 meters from Kamal Adwan Hospital, and 170 meters from a nearby school. The site was used by Hamas militants to plan attacks against IDF forces and to restore their operational capabilities. Several militants were reportedly killed during the strike.

The proximity of the Hamas position to civilian institutions highlights the group's tactic of using civilians and civilian infrastructure as human shields. The IDF emphasized that its forces operate in accordance with the ceasefire agreement but continue to act decisively to eliminate immediate threats. This strike is part of an ongoing intensive campaign by the IDF to dismantle terrorist infrastructure in Gaza.

In recent days, the IDF has eliminated 20 militants who violated the ceasefire, including a deputy commander of a Hamas unit involved in infiltrations into Israel. The Paratroopers Brigade recently concluded a three-month operation along the security barrier, destroying 13 kilometers of terror tunnels and sealing extensive underground routes. The IDF reaffirmed its commitment to protect both its soldiers and residents of the Negev region while maintaining operational readiness in the Gaza area.
