Israel’s Fear Barrier Against Iran Has Been Broken, Says Channel 14 Commentator

In a monologue on Channel 14, presenter and commentator Yaara Zard argued that the main story is not an expected U.S.-Iran agreement, but Israel’s success in overcoming fear of Iran. She said that, if nothing changes, negotiators are set to gather in Switzerland on Friday to sign a deal between Iran and the United States, and stressed that Israel is not part of it.

Zard said U.S. President Donald Trump still insists Iran must not obtain nuclear weapons, but added that it is still unclear where the talks will lead or whether any agreement will be signed at all. Even so, she said Israel is demanding that its freedom of action continue in Lebanon and against Iran, despite fears the deal could be bad for Israel.

She told viewers not to panic over headlines or to believe Israel’s security depends on any one president. “The people of Israel were here before Trump and will be here after him,” she said, adding that Israel has always been able to defend itself and that the Middle East remains volatile and unpredictable.

According to Zard, the real development is that “the fear barrier” toward Iran has been shattered. She said Israeli forces dominated Iranian airspace, struck targets once thought unreachable, eliminated Iran’s leadership, and proved the country is not invulnerable. She also said Iran’s proxies and the wider “axis of terror” have been hit hard, and that Israel is changing reality on the ground while continuing its campaign.
