Dario Saric Set for EuroLeague Return After a Decade in the NBA
After 10 years away from Europe, Croatian big man Dario Saric is reportedly close to returning to the EuroLeague. His agent, Miško Ražnatović, hinted on Monday that Saric may be heading back to Turkey, and BasketNews reported that his likely destination is former club Anadolu Efes.
Ražnatović wrote on social media, “Turkish Airlines is the only airline that allows passengers to use their return ticket with a delay of exactly 10 years.” BasketNews said the message was a reference to Saric’s expected comeback to Anadolu Efes, which he left in the summer of 2016 after two seasons before beginning a decade-long NBA career.
Saric is 32 and stands 2.08 meters tall. He played for seven NBA teams, with his best season coming in 2017 to 2018 with Philadelphia, where he averaged 14.6 points and 6.7 rebounds. Over the last two seasons, his playing time dropped sharply, and he was waived during the current season.
If the move is completed, Saric would return to Europe and the EuroLeague. In his last EuroLeague season, in 2015 to 2016, he averaged 11.7 points and 5.8 rebounds.
