Shlomo Filber Cools Enthusiasm Over Ofir Winter’s New Party, Predicts 1.5% Vote Share

Shlomo Filber, head of research and strategy, offered a critical analysis of the recent excitement surrounding the launch of retired Lt. Col. Ofir Winter’s new political party, 'Amcha Yisrael.' Filber noted a surge of enthusiasm on social media but cautioned that it mainly stems from two distinct groups: politically engaged left-wing commentators and liberal religious Zionist voters who have felt politically orphaned in recent years.

Filber pointed out that many of these liberal religious Zionist supporters likely did not vote for the right-wing bloc in the 2022 elections, instead backing parties like Shaked’s or Gantz’s. He also found minimal support among declared right-wing voters from Likud, Otzma Yehudit, or the religious Zionist camp who have publicly switched to Winter’s party. These voters had expected Winter to join or be reserved a spot within an existing party and were disappointed by his decision to form an independent faction.

Filber urged the public to provide concrete evidence of genuine voter shifts from the right-wing bloc to Winter’s party. Without solid backing from core right-wing voters, he warned that the party would likely remain a minor force, polling around 1.5%, similar to the New Right’s 2019 performance or Ayelet Shaked’s 2022 results.
