Left-Wing Figures Welcome Winter’s New Party Amid Concerns of Alliance Shift

Retired Brigadier General Ofer Winter recently launched a new political party called "Amcha Israel" ahead of the upcoming elections, aiming to bring together fighters, public figures, and advocacy activists. The party's formation was announced at the Shiloh Center in Jerusalem, with Winter emphasizing the need for a new security approach and decisive victory over Israel's enemies.

Ronen Menalis, advisor to former Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot, publicly praised Winter's launch, tweeting "Your success is our success. Run, Ofer, run." This endorsement sparked criticism on Channel 14's program "Sheva," where commentator Noam Amir warned that Winter might align with the left-wing bloc. Amir stated, "This is not a cynical tweet, it is a strategy," suggesting Winter could side with the opposition if Avigdor Lieberman demands the premiership.

Another commentator, Yaki Edmeker, highlighted the significance of Menalis's support as evidence of the political implications surrounding Winter's move.
