President Herzog Confirms Shin Bet Involvement in Search for Missing Girl Heyminot Kessaw

After 910 days of disappearance and prolonged public demands for security forces' involvement, Israeli President Isaac Herzog confirmed that the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) has recently joined the search efforts for Heyminot Kessaw. Herzog met with the missing girl's family at the President's Residence, sharing that following discussions with Shin Bet chief David Zini, the agency is now actively participating in the investigation, responding to a request from the Israel Police.

Heyminot Kessaw has been missing for over two and a half years, during which the family expressed sharp criticism over delays and fears of discrimination possibly related to language barriers or skin color. Her father, Tesfaye Kessaw, voiced frustration over the slow response and urged immediate Shin Bet intervention. Her sister, Yeros Kessaw, described the family's ongoing suffering and the impact on her own life, emphasizing the hope that Shin Bet's involvement will end their ordeal.

President Herzog stressed that Heyminot is a child of all Israel and that the entire nation cares deeply about her. He acknowledged the police's extensive efforts, which included investigations reaching as far as Argentina, and welcomed the Shin Bet's full commitment to locating her. The family remains hopeful and calls on the public to continue supporting the search until Heyminot returns home to Jerusalem.
