President Herzog Reveals Shin Bet Involvement in Search for Missing Haimnot Kasso

Israeli President Isaac Herzog met on Tuesday with the family of Haimnot Kasso, who has been missing for about two and a half years. During the meeting, Herzog informed the family that the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) has recently become involved in the investigation and search efforts, following a request from the Israel Police and in full cooperation with them. Herzog emphasized that locating Haimnot is a top priority for Israeli law enforcement and said, "Haimnot is a child of all the people of Israel, and all of Israel cares deeply for her." He expressed gratitude to the police and Shin Bet for their extensive efforts and expressed hope for positive news soon.

Haimnot's father, Tsafai Kasso, stated that the family has made every effort and met with relevant authorities, demanding Shin Bet's swift intervention due to concerns about difficulties and discrimination related to language barriers and skin color. Haimnot's sister, Yaros, shared the emotional toll on the family, noting that Haimnot disappeared during wartime and that the family's suffering would end if Shin Bet's involvement leads to her discovery. She described how her own life has been consumed by the search since high school.

Family companion Tsafai Bishao thanked President Herzog and the Israeli public for their ongoing support over the past two and a half years. He expressed hope that they will soon celebrate Haimnot's Bat Mitzvah at home in Jerusalem, affirming their belief that she is alive and must return home.
